 History of Product Developments

The “GEsellschaft for SOftware and Hardware TEChnology” (“GESOTEC GbR Partnertship“) was founded 1981 in Darmstadt, Germany, by four Scientists from the Departments of Physics/Neurobiology of the local technical University, and an experienced Journalist. Initial activity of the company was the development of Software and Hardware for scientific and medical applications. A rapidly growing business led 1982 to the Incorporation of GESOTEC Soft- & Hardware GmbH, a limited capital cooperation.

Between 1983 and 1987 hundreds of GESOTEC products have been sold worldwide under the trade names “DISCO” and “DIPS” by the Swedish company “AGA Infrared Systems”, at that time world market leader for industrial thermography applications. “DISCO” and “DIPS” were among the first microprocessor-based image processing systems for industrial thermography.

In 1985 GESOTEC introduced under the trade name “VIPER” (“Video Image Processing, Evaluation & Recording“) a PC- based Image Processing System for industrial applications and scientific densitometry. “VIPER” systems were sold successfully for automated industrial quality inspection tasks with high quality microscopes and borescopes, amongst others in co-operation with the German Office of the Japanese company Olympus.

In 1986 GESOTEC introduced under the trade-name “TCEM“ a complete PC-based low-budget system solution for the  real-time surveillance of shell temperatures on rotary kilns in cement plants. At that time, the infrared line scanner models “AGEMA Thermoprofile-THP5/6“ have been used as the temperature sensing instrument. To connect the “Thermoprofile-THP5/6“ scanners to a standard PC, GESOTEC developed under the trade-name “DaLi-SPIx a unique two-wire fiber-optic “SPI-type“ Data-Link with a 16bit@10MHz sychronous data protocol. Today, more than 30 years later, this SPI data-link technology is available as a standard state-of-the-art synchronous serial interface for modern microcontrollers. Many hundreds of “TCEM” systems have been sold world-wide under different trade names (e.g. “GTCS”, “DAP”, “KTS-ME”, “CEMAT-SCAN”, “TCEM-NT”, “KTCx.NET”, “KTSx.NET“), amongst others by reputable OEM-companies like AGEMA, Krupp-Polysius, Siemens...

In 1995 GESOTEC introduced a series of leading-edge infrared line scan cameras under the trade-name “Millennium TMCx-xD”. These high-end optronics instruments were backward compatible with "the industrial line scanner standard” at that time, the “Thermoprofile-THP5/6/7” models of AGEMA Infrared Systems (today Flir Systems). Ever since, “Millennium TMCx-xD” line scan cameras are sold very successfully world-wide, particularly for kiln shell temperature monitoring in cement plants, amongst others by reputable OEM-companies like Krupp-Polysius, Siemens, FLSmidth, ...

In 1996 GESOTEC introduced under the trade-name “PyroViper“ a unique series of High-Temperature Furnace-Probe CCTV-cameras with embedded dual-wavelength thermography. PyroViper cameras cover an overall spectral sensitivity range from 0.3µm to 14µm (UV to LWIR) by using just one advanced borescope optics for up to three integrated area-sensors (“FPA´s“). Furnished with suitable software and interface hardware these technology-leading cameras can operate as an application adapted “Imaging Spectrometer“ that provides unmatched advantages for industrial Pyro-Process Condition Monitoring.

Today, GESOTEC is one of the very few global suppliers of totally integated industrial IoT-NETwork system solutions for state-of-the-art Pyro-Process Condition Monitoring with multispectral sensitive imaging sensors & other sophisticated instrumentation.
